Battlefield 3 dealt a day-one patch for consoles

24 October 2011

Post-release patching is hitting a whole new level of ridiculous with DICE dropping a day-one patch for Battlefield 3.

Eurogamer has reported that the patch for the Xbox 360 will be a whopping (by South African standards at least) 167MB.

No word on the size of the PS3 patch, but with the amount of updates Sony makes you do, let’s say a million gillion MB. Approximately.

That means you’ll have to wait about half a day while your internet connection attempts to pretend to work, before you get to sink your teeth into this week’s most anticipated release.

What will the patch do?

Well lead game designer, David Goldfarb, tweeted a totally non-vague and clear response saying “the day 1 patch has all the final stuff.”

Wasn’t all the final stuff supposed to be in the game already, Dave?

Cue PC fanboys going “dis iz y consoles suk!”
