Nintendo posts H1 2011 financial results

Nintendo reported today financial results for the first six months of its current fiscal year (through Sept. 30, 2011), and based on those results revised its sales forecasts for the entire year.

In total, the company shipped 9 million hardware units and more than 73 million software units during the half year. In addition, Nintendo revised its full-year unit global shipment forecasts as follows, compared with projections at the end of the previous fiscal quarter:

Nintendo will be relying on some big first and third party titles due to drop before the end of the year to help recover some lost momentum.

First-party titles include The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii, and Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 for the Nintendo 3DS.
