Ubisoft bringing Prince of Persia to iOS

28 October 2011

Is it just me or are bigger games companies starting to take iOS and the iPad pretty seriously as a gaming device?

Okay, maybe it is just me – but it can’t be denied that we’ve seen quite a few cool titles hitting Apple’s shiny gadgets recently; and now Ubisoft are getting in on the fun and adding to the stockpile by bringing Prince of Persia to the App Store.

The classic Prince of Persia was given an HD update for PSN and Xbox LIVE back in 2007 – and it’s that version that will be heading to the iStore – with a new control scheme, optimised for touch.

On top of that little smidge of info, Eurogamer are also reporting that Ubisoft are planning on bringing a few Rabbids along for the ride in the form of Rabbids GO HD and Rabbids GO Phone Again.

Those Rabbid rabbit-things creep me the hell out – so naturally I want one.

There’s been no official word on actual release dates, but the generally vague “before the end of the year” seems to be the goal – so if your bathroom breaks are getting a bit boring with your iPad or iPhone, at least you have something new to look forward to.

Can I add Beyond Good & Evil to my wishlist please, Ubisoft?
