If 90% of success is confidence, Capcom may be in some trouble with their upcoming spin-off to the hit Resident Evil franchise, Operation Raccoon City.
Capcom’s sales prediction for the title in the most recent financial report is sitting at two million copies, but some sharp-eyed employees over at Eurogamer have noticed this is a number 500,000 less than the prediction laid out six months ago.
By contrast, the predictions for Dragon’s Dogma and Street Fighter X Tekken are still at their numbers of 1.5 and two million respectively.

A lot of optimism is dished out for their upcoming 3DS title, Monster Hunter Tri G, which is thought to be capable of selling 1.2 million copies – just in Japan.
Capcom haven’t offered any explanation as to why the Raccoon City number has been altered, but it may be due to the outcry from fans of the franchise regarding this iteration’s breaking away from the formula of the franchise thus far. A mob of angry gamers marauding their way through the internet is enough to shake any developer’s confidence.
