Well that’s what Rockstar says, according to what they told digitaltrends when they got a little sneaky peek at the 10 year anniversary edition of GTA 3 on mobile platforms.
The report states that even though it would be a “technical challenge” to bring Vice City and San Andreas to mobile devices, Rockstar says it’s “very possible”.
Considering Vice City was bigger than GTA 3, and San Andreas was bigger than both of those combined…methinks “technical challenge” is perhaps an understatement.

GTA 3 is heading over to iOS and select Android devices in celebration of the 10 year anniversary; according to the report, the release will be the full game, with a few graphical updates and gameplay tweaks – but don’t expect anything drastic.
Apparently it’ll have sharper textures and a higher polygon count than the original PS2 version, and interestingly, with a device that has USB compatibility, it looks like you’ll be able to use a USB controller to play it.
And the radio stations are still there.
Oh Lazlow, how we ache to hear you sweetly caressing our ears with your voice once again.
If you’re a lucky iPad or compatible Android device owner – expect GTA 3 before the year is over.
