Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City information flood

It seems today is Resident Evil day, with a wealth of info popping up online regarding Capcom’s next venture into the Resident Evil world.

First up, the game finally has an official release date – sitting pretty at 23 March 2012 for PS3 and 360 – with PC to follow shortly thereafter, according to a Eurogamer report.

Before the game gets its big release though, gamers will get to play through a beta period early 2012, but no real details surrounding that were given by producer Mike Jones when he announced it at Capcom’s Gamer’s Day 2011.

However, it can be safely assumed it will be play-testing the 4-player co-op, which will see players shooting up zombies across Raccoon City – spanning the timeline of Resident Evil 2 and 3.

I mean, that’s what the game is all about, right?

I guess the biggest draw to the game – aside from the daring re-imagining of the franchise – is the option to plug Leon Kennedy, and his stupid hair, with a ton of bullets.

It’s only a “what-if” scenario, though, so it’s not considered canon…but still…

Get your zombie riot gear on, and prepare yourself for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City on 23 March 2012.
