The Playstation 1 era of games really gave birth to a few gems which have sadly dropped off of the gaming map over the years.
With Square-Enix now having access to Eidos’ entire catalogue of games, it would appear they’re digging deep and bringing a few classics out for a second running.
Fear Effect is one of those games.

In fact, not one, but two of those games – as Fear Effect and it’s prequel-sequel Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix have been re-rated by the ESRB for release on the PS3 via PSN.
It’s a safe bet that these will be released as PSOne Classics – though in an ideal world they would be HD remakes of awesomeness.
Fear Effect followed the story of three mercenaries who were trying to find a Chinese crime lord’s kidnapped daughter – so they could kidnap her for themselves; they got more than they bargained for though, as they discovered they were dealing with demons and other nasty things that would literally drag them to hell.
If you played the games back in the day – you know how awesome that was.
The sequel covered events happening before the first game, but mostly caught attention because of the overt sexual themes, and the relationship between the two female characters.

No, really.
Fighting Force 2 is also coming, according to Eurogamer, by the way.
