The most recent sales figures reported by VGChartz indicate that the Xbox 360 version of Battlfield 3 has sold almost double the number of PS3 version sales.
As of 29 October the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 had sold 2,249,092 copies worldwide, while the PS3 version had sold 1,486,067 copies.
1.5 million copies sold on PS3 alone in a relatively short time is still an impressive feat, when we consider that games such as Dark Souls are considered succesful when they hit 1.5 million units sold across all platforms over an extended period of time.
Only 487,181 PC copies of Battlefield 3 had been sold, although this number excludes digital sales which are thought to account for over half of PC game sales.
In total, Battlefield 3 has sold 2.25 million copies worldwide, excluding sales made in EA’s own Origin channel.
