MSSA team runners-up at 2011 IeSMoD World Championships

11 November 2011

The MSSA team sent to Jeju, South Korea, to compete in the IeSMoD World Championships have landed back on home soil – and quite victoriously, too!

Jason “Stain” van Belkum and Jacobus “Jacool” Engelbrecht were sponsored by Megarom to compete in the championships – with Jason representing us Saffas in StarCraft II and FIFA, and Jacobus in Warcraft III and Kartrider.

While Jason unfortunately wasn’t able to progress to the later stages of the event (there’s some seriously stiff competition there), Jacobus managed to make it into the finals for Warcraft III and Kartrider.

Reports indicate that both the finals were a close match, and while Jacobus didn’t come out as the ultimate victor – second place is still an amazing achievement.

It’s great to see that locals are competing on an international level – and not only that, we’re doing quite well.

Hopefully this speaks of awesome things to come.

From MyGaming – well done, Jacobus and Jason!
