Last week we wrote about how gamers were trashing Modern Warfare 3 via the game’s Metacritic score.

It has received generally favourable reviews from publications, managing to level out at a Metacritic score of 82/100.

However, the user review score dropped to 1.7 within days of the game being released. This score was comprised of over 2,500 user reviews.

Today Sledgehammer Games’ studio head Glen Schofield expressed his unhappiness about the poor user review, and even tweeted a request to fans of the game to go post their own user score.

“I don’t usually do this but, if u like MW3 go 2 Metacritic.com & help our user score. It’s suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree,” said Schofield in his tweet.

Schofield has since deleted the tweet, however, since making the request the game has shot up from a dismal 1.7 out of 10 to a fractionally less poor 1.8.
