Many a South African Halo fan has excitedly pre-ordered the remastered 10-year anniversary edition of the original Halo: Combat Evolved from Kalahari.com.
The game launched worldwide yesterday (15 November), but Kalahari customers were left in the lurch as the company seemed to think the game was only to be shipped on Friday, 18 November.
We caught up with Ramone Pickover, Kalahari’s category manager for games, to find out about the mix up.
“The official release date communicated to us by our supplier (Prima Interactive) was the 18th of November,” said Pickover, confirmed by the original release schedule supplied by Prima Interactive. “This was in line with Japanese launch date [with a] 1 day difference for Shipping time.”
“We were informed late yesterday afternoon [15 November] that the release date had moved to 15 November 2011; As Microsoft SA decided to move the release date last minute, to be in line with the USA,” said Pickover.
“We only received our stock yesterday, and we are also doing a pre-order incentive with a T-Shirt. The T-Shirts were only delivered today [16 November 2011], and we will be releasing the stock later today,” Pickover concluded.
