PlayStation 3 gamers all over the planet have added their voices to increasingly loud shouts for an Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim patch, with claims that a save game bug is making the game unplayable.
According to complaints on Eurogamer, Reddit, and Bethesda’s own forums, it seems that a save file bigger than 6 MB causes the game to lag. The problem has also been noted by GameIndustry.biz senior staffer Dan Pearson, as well as Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry tech wizard division.
The same issue was apparently present in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Bethesda confirmed yesterday that a multi-platform update is in the works, with boss Pete Hines recommending gamers “calm down” in the meantime. How long that’s actually going to be remains a matter of speculation for now, though, with no launch date confirmed.
The patch will presumably also fix texture streaming problems on the Xbox version of the game.
