I don’t play JRPGs, but when I do play JRPGs, it’s Chrono Trigger.
After its original debut on the SNES back in 1995, and subsequent relaunches on the PSOne, DS, Wii Virtual Console, Xperia Play, and most recently on the PlayStation Network, the time-travelling adventure is coming to iOS devices next month.
It was really only a matter of time. (Rimshot here.)
According to a report over on Destructoid, the iOS version features touchscreen controls and redesigned menus, although Square has not yet confirmed any pricing or a fixed release date for the game.
Also, it’s not clear whether there’s going to be a proper HD version for iPad, as the article mentions only the iPhone and iPod Touch.
I left my time machine in my other pants, so I can’t jump forward, jump back, and tell you anything more about that for the moment, although my Magic-8 Ball says “NO”. Just “NO”.
Honestly, I’ve never seen that one before, but maybe it’s some kind of warning about ontological paradoxes.
