DoGaming has announced that Monster Energy drink has become the fourth company to confirm a cash sponsorship for the Telkom DoGaming League going into the 2012 season.

Monster joins Megarom, EA and Incredible Connection’s Gaming Inc. division, raising the total prize cash already confirmed for next year’s DGL to R160,000.

Megarom is putting R50,000 into the Modern Warfare 3 league along with Monster’s R10,000, making the total up for grabs R60,000 so far.

EA and Incredible Connection are each putting R50,000 into the Battlefield 3 league, bringing the total prize purse to a cool R100,000.

“Along with the R10 000, we’ll also supply the winning clan with branded t-shirts including their clan names and caps. Each member of the winning team will also receive a case of Monster Energy drinks a month for a year,” said Monster Energy’s marketing manager Garan Reck.

Megarom’s Marketing Director, Jason Borea, was also positive about the DGL’s Modern Warfare 3 league in 2012, saying: “The competitive nature of the Call of Duty franchise is what has made Call of Duty’s multiplayer experience so exciting. We’ve always been involved in supporting the local gaming scene and what we found appealing about the DGL is the opportunity for gamers to play through the year online, with the league culminating in a LAN Championship where gamers will stand the chance to win their share of R50 000.”

Historically the DGL finals usually take place at the rAge NAG LAN towards the end of each year. The venue has not be confirmed for the 2012 DLG finals, but an announcement will likely be made closer to the time.
