2D Boy has announced that World of Goo will be hitting Android devices on 28 November 2011.
The announcement was made through an amusing faux-press-release.
“While attempting to ship Goo for Android devices yesterday, a World of Goo Corporation tanker malfunctioned, flooding a 40 mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and disabling around 150 vehicles. As a result, Android Goo will be available to all World of Goo Corporation’s customers via the Android Market on November 28, a 5 day delay from the planned schedule.”
“We deeply regret this inconvenience to our loyal customers who are eagerly and patiently awaiting the arrival of Goo on their Android devices” said a World of Goo Corporation Associate PR Representative.
“We are hard at work preparing a new batch of Android Goo and are committed to replacing our shipping and logistics sub-contractors who we believe are to blame for this incident.”
“This minor failure may have cost the state of Pennsylvania and several on our insurance partners a few million dollars,” added the representative, “but we would like to assure our valued customers that this will in no way affect future shipments of Goo.”
Goo’ stuff.
World of Goo is a multiple-award-winning title that challenges players to get most, if not all of their gooey friends to the level exit through increasingly complex physics-based methods. The various goo balls have their own unique physical properties which the player must manipulate.
MyGaming gave the title a whopping 90% when it first hit PC, and having already garnered a 96/100 Metacritic rating for iOS devices, there is every reason to believe it will translate perfectly to this generation of Android touchscreen devices.
World of Goo is expected to go on sale on the Android Market for $4.99.
