Earlier this week, Big Fish Games submitted an app for Apple to approve, which would introduce the first paid-subscription service game into the iStore.
The service had subsequently been approved by Apple.
The service will allow iOS (iPad/iPhone) users to have unlimited access to a wealth of games for a monthly subscription fee, similar to the Newsstand service.
Now however, Apple have inexplicably pulled the service – and haven’t given Big Fish any reason for it.
“We were notified that the app was removed. We’re trying to follow up with Apple to try to figure out what happened,” said Paul Thelen, founder of Big Fish.
“The app was officially approved” according to Thelen, with Big Fish being in talks with Apple for weeks to make sure it met approval requirements, according to the Bloomberg report.
Apple haven’t yet commented, leaving Big Fish feeling like they’ve just been broken up with, and they don’t know why.
