LG 3D Gaming Festival kicks off this week

LG will be promoting their range of 3D televisions this week with a gaming demonstration and competition being held at Sandton City, Johannesburg.

The LG Gaming Festival runs from Wednesday, 30 November, to Sunday, 4 December, and includes a competition in which there are some hefty prizes up for grabs – such as LG 3D televisons, and a trip to Australia to attend the F1 in VIP style.

The final of the LG 3D Gaming Festival is taking place on Saturday 3 December in Sandton City from 11:00 ~ 13:00.

The final will see 33 contestants from across South Africa battle it out in the F1 2011 racing game, for a grand prize consisting of a VIP F1 Australia experience for two.

The VIP F1 Australia experience for two prize includes:

  • Return Economy class flight tickets from Johannesburg to Melbourne, Australia.
  • Bed & breakfast and accommodation for three nights.
  • Prize excludes prize winner’s own spending money.
  • Entrants to the competition must be over the age of 16.

LG South Africa confirmed that there are three remaining spots for qualification in the main event and these will be allocated to participants who attempt to qualify during the week at the Sandton City expo. The expo is open from 09.00 to 18.00 starting Wednesday, 30 November, giving three days for potential qualifiers to get into the main event.

Participants can also get in some practice at selected Dion Wired, HiFi Corporation, and Makro stores in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban – as well as at the LG xperience store in Monte Casino, Fourways , Johannesburg.

Runner up prizes include:

  • 2nd prize: 1 x 47 inch LG Cinema 3D TV and 3D Blu-ray player
  • 3rd prize: 1 x 42 inch LG Cinema 3D TV
  • 4th prize: 1 x 42 inch LG Cinema 3D TV
