Rumour Control: Future Assassin’s Creed locations outed

We all know that there will be a new Assassin’s Creed in 2012 – and chances are that title is pretty much sealed in terms of what’s going to happen and where it’s going down – so this apparent list of possible future locations for the series is unlikely relating to that.

But we also know that AssCreed is hugely successful for Ubisoft, and they’re not just going to drop the franchise after Desmond’s tale has been done and dusted; and we’re going to be seeing more off the games in the future.

According to a report at Empire States Gamer, a reader was asked to take part in a market research survey, in which Ubisoft asked the question:

“Among the following propositions, in which of the following historical periods and locations would you like one of the next Assassin’s Creed games to take place?”

Here’s the list that followed:

  • The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China.
  • The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England.
  • The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt.
  • The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors.
  • The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution.
  • The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution.
  • The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan.
  •  The rise of Caesar’s Empire in Ancient Rome.

There’s nothing confirming this, and it may very well be yet another fanboy’s dream list parading as truth – but at least it gets the imagination pumping as to where the games could actually go.

Personally, I’m entirely keen for visiting Feudal Japan and just moving away from the Middle-East and the Mediterranean in general.

If this ends up being true – where would you most like to go? Leave a comment below, or let us know in the forums!
