In a bid to take attention away from Bulldozer’s lacklustre performance, AMD have announced a partnership with Patriot Memory to bring AMD memory to the desktop market.
Riveting.
AMD and Patriot have been working together to optimise the RAM specifically for AMD platforms, which should lead to better performance and compatibility between AMD CPUs, motherboards and RAM.
There will be three categories of AMD Memory available. The entertainment category will feature RAM running at 1333Mhz and 1600Mhz speeds, and are designed for home-theatre PCs.
The performance version supports speeds up to 1600Mhz with low latencies, while the Radeon edition will run at 1866Mhz with optimised timings for maximum performance.
The sets will be available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB sizes, and will be available separately, or as a bundle with other AMD system components.
