If you’re having difficulty keeping track of who’s what and what’s where in the great wide world of Skyrim, you’re not alone.

For some reason or another, Bethesda did not see fit to include any options to make notes or mark the map in the game, which makes it kind of hard to remember where you stashed all those bodies.

Now a free, unofficial companion app, Dragon Shout, will make your double life as the Whiterun Ripper that much easier to manage. The app lets you drop markers and annotations onto an interactive map of Skyrim, so you’ll never spend another three hours slogging all over Falkreath looking for the centrepiece of your flesh diorama that you left, uh, somewhere, by a rock or something. Damn it! The whole thing’s ruined without it!

“The first version of the app contains an interactive map where you can drop annotated markers / journal entries down. For example, yesterday I played Skyrim and left a bunch of dragon scales and bones on the side of a mountain because they were too heavy,” the (unidentified) developer told Touch Arcade.

“I will come back and get them some other time so I marked it on the map so I know where it’s at in the future. Another example is I’m always looking for the right ingredients for potions, so when I come across an important ingredient, I mark it on the map so I know where to get it next time.”

The app’s official site says it’s “coming soon”, and will be available for iPad and iPhone.
