When Ron Gilbert left Hothead Games and signed up with Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions in September 2010, the planet was promised ” an entirely new concept” that “fans of those old adventure games will like”.
Now, over a year later, Ron is finally ready to saying something more about it.
Well, just a bit.
“I’m so excited,” he writes over on his blog in an update featuring two pieces of concept art from omg-whatever-it-is. “This is an idea that has been in my head for a long long long time. It predates Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island. It’s a game that needed to be made.
“These are two of the playable characters. That’s all I can say right now, but more will follow later. ”
The character design is very reminiscent of Day of the Tentacle, which can only be an awesome thing, right?
Exactly.
Besides, with Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer on the same team, the awesome is pretty much guaranteed.
