Skyrim 1.2 patch fixes problems, makes new ones

30 November 2011

In news that probably won’t surprise anybody who’s played a Bethesda game before, it turns out the Skyrim patch released this week has not only fixed a bunch of problems, it’s made an even bigger bunch of new ones.

Ha, ha, ha, those guys are hilarious.

In an ever-expanding post over on the official Bethesda forums, user olafpkyou has been compiling complaints as they come in, with perhaps the worst being that the PS3 lag and Xbox texture loading issues are still present. Oh my.

Some of the more common new problems include dragons flying backwards, magic and poison resistance no longer working, inconsistent frame rates and visual quality, shouts are broken, and Lydia can’t be married.

Maybe that last one isn’t such a bad thing – she does have a habit of getting herself killed rather too often for a good wife.

Bethesda has yet to respond, but that’s probably because they’re all sitting around in the office with their heads in their hands, wondering where it all went wrong.
