Microsoft has announced that it’s flipping the switches over at Xbox LIVE HQ to ALL ACCESS GO GO GO this weekend, presumably as a promo to go with this week’s Xbox dashboard update and shiny new (and mostly quite pointless) iOS app launch.
Hey, any reason is a good reason, even if it’s just cloud saves and more ads.
The free-for-all is available from Friday 9 December 11am to Monday 12 December 8am.
During this time, unpaid subscribers will be able to make use of a limited number of Xbox LIVE Gold features, including all online multiplayer, the Video Kinect service, and the Facebook channel.
They won’t, however, be able to use Twitter, or take advantage of Gold-exclusive early access to DLC or the Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week (obviously).
… Wait, do people actually use Facebook and Twitter on Xbox? I learned something today.
I’ll probably be playing Gears of War online this weekend, so if you see me smeared on a wall on Clocktower, say hi!
