In news that probably won’t shock anybody, there’s a Dead Rising 3 in development. The fact is, you can’t actually beat a full-scale zombie apocalypse, it’s more like a one day at a time sort of deal.
First confirmation of the game came through the Dead Rising Facebook page on Wednesday, with a post reading “I’m getting packing for my new adventure – camera, notebook and baseball bat. What else would i need for a break in paradise? – Frank”.
Frank is, of course, Frank West – the star of the original Dead Rising game, as well as some of the sequel’s DLC mini-campaigns. It’s also one of those names you can use as a kind of rallying war cry as you mow down swathes of zombies.
FRAAAAAAAAANK WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEST!
Now Siliconera’s network of industry spies are reporting that Dead Rising 3 takes place in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California and stars an auto mechanic named Rick who must fix up a plane and get out before the bombs drop.
RIIIIIIIIIIICK! Yeah, it works.
According to the same sources, there’s also an “undercurrent of themes about illegal immigration”, with a supporting cast of “illegal” infected extras. I’m sure the tabloids are going to love that.
That’s about it for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a reveal trailer at the VGAs this weekend.
