The Last Of Us is touted as being the big super-secret PS3 exclusive reveal happening at the Spike VGA’s – taking place tomorrow on 10 December – where it will be getting a full trailer to finally reveal what it’s all about.
Of course, here on the internet, people aren’t waiting that long, and cyber-sleuths have already been hard at work trying to figure it all out.
Yesterday, the teaser site got updated with this pretty, albeit pointless, wallpaper image:
The guys over at NeoGAF, using some sneaky URL exploits, managed to extract this picture as well:
According to a report over at VG247, the video snippets from the teaser videos on the teaser site, are sourced from a doccie about brain-eating fungus which takes control of ants (making them zombie ants)…and I’m sure you can see where this is going.
If that wasn’t sleuthy enough for you, it would seem that some Uncharted 3 players have also found a sneaky reference to this concept in the early stages of the game, where a newspaper headline on the bar reads: “Scientists are still struggling to understand deadly fungus.”
Intriguing. Sony hinting at a PS3 exclusive within another PS3 exclusive? If the glove fits…
I guess we’ll have to wait until the Spike VGAs tomorrow night before we hit anything concrete – but it’s awesome to see the internet at work!
