We no longer have to lamely refer to the Alan Wake sequel as Alan Wake 2, or “that XBLA Alan Wake game”, it’s all grown up now and has earned its own full name – Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.
This title has been officially confirmed at the Spike VGAs by way of a new trailer shown off by Remedy. The main antagonist will be Mr. Scratch, featured at the end of the original Alan Wake game.
The game is coming soon, with a launch on Xbox Live Arcade set for Q1 2012. Don’t let the digital release fool you, Remedy has described the story consistently as “pretty damned impressive”.
