Batman: Arkham World teased during VGAs

Is there going to be another Batman game from Rocksteady? Almost definitely.

Is it something called Batman: Arkham World? …Almost definitely not, but maybe.

During his acceptance video for winning the Best Character award at the Spike TV Video Game Awards over the weekend, the Joker turned up holding a script titled “Batman: Arkham World”.

“I guess I won’t be needing this anymore,” he said, holding up and then chucking the script into a bin. “Oops, spoilers!”

Very amusing, but this sort of stuff is always there for a reason – and let’s not forget that Batman: Arkham City was first revealed at the Spike TV VGAs in 2009. This isn’t a formal announcement of anything (yet), but it doesn’t take the World’s Greatest Detective to work out that something’s up.

The next logical step for the franchise would probably be Batman: Gotham City, of course, but Rocksteady can call their games whatever they like.
