If you’ve not yet had enough of chopping, mining, and killing things (and, honestly, who has?), you’ll probably want to check out Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson’s new game, Minicraft.
It’s mostly about chopping, mining, and killing things, so it’s totally your sort of thing.
The game was made as part of the ongoing Ludum Dare competition, which challenges developers to create a game in under 48 hours. The theme for this event is “Alone”, so the idea in Minicraft is to pretty much chop, mine, and kill everything until nothing is left to chop, mine, or kill and you’re forever alone. It sounds a bit like my love life, so that’s nice.
You can play Minicraft in your browser, or download it from the official Ludum Dare site.
There are about 15 hours left in the competition, with over 700 games already submitted. Once the competition closes, users will have three weeks to play and vote for their favourite games. Go on, get involved.
I think this game was fun, but could use a lot more polishing. To proof I played it:
