Bah, who said games are so derivative these days? I mean, we have so many hot, innovative new games like Generic Face Shooter 5, Kill All the Things for Points VI, and now Battle Duty: Modern Field 3.
Okay, I made up the first two* but Battle Duty: Modern Field 3 for iPhone is a real thing, and is also “an epic game (parody/satire) featuring recent big hits such as ‘Cowadoody’ and ‘Battlederp’ series.”
More specifically, Battle Duty: Modern Field 3 features a bunch of static screenshots from Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and spawns targets on them for you to engage with extreme prejudice, Whack-A-Terrorist-style, with guns or other kinds of guns. Honestly, when they put it like this, it’s kind of hard to spot the difference.
“U sit hi and just tap on them… Not my thing but great if thats wat u like… ” writes Qwerty2016 in his very rigorous review of the game, before presumably going back to Battlefield or Call of Duty and deploying an irony bomb.
*I’d totally play those, though.
