Incoming Battlefield 3 patch will tweak weapon accessories

4 January 2012

“Working on the Accessory tweaks, thanks for the feedback. Accessory values will now be tweaked per weapon, instead of globally,” said Battlefield 3 designer, Alan Kertz, on Twitter.

In a comprehensive post on Reddit a few days ago, Kertz suggested that various tweaks would be made to Battlefield 3’s bipods. He also said that the recoil penalty should be removed from the heavy barrel accessory, and that other accessories would be tweaked on a per-weapon basis.

“I’m working on a retweak of the accessories in the game currently, as I feel the player is limited in choice due to a few accessories being the clear winners in almost all categories. While this unfortunately means nerfing those that are over used, the goal here is to focus on improving the under performing and under used attachments,” said Kertz.

Kertz did not say when the patch would be released.
