Looks like the team over at From Software might have reconsidered that whole “Nah, we’re not doing Dark Souls DLC” thing, if a report over on EGM is to be believed.
According to an anonymous “source close to the project”, the developer is working on some kind of DLC for the game, with an expected launch date sometime during the first quarter of 2012.
Exactly what sort of DLC it is remains a big mystery for the moment, although From Software filed a trademark for something called “Yami no Mori” (which translates to “Forest of Darkness”, more or less) late last year.
An expansion? A new quest? A mount?
Probably not a mount, although I do find the thought of riding into battle on a bunch of evil trees pretty awesome.
Back in November 2011, Namco reported that Dark Souls had shipped 1.5 million copies worldwide, and a petition for a PC version of the game now has over 60,000 signatures – which is quite impressive for a game that does everything it can to be a bastard and kill you.
