Sony unfazed by PS Vita launch fears

PlayStation EU boss, Jim Ryan, has dismissed the claims that the PS Vita‘s rocky start in the Japanese market spells gloom and doom for the portable’s success elsewhere in the world.

“It is dangerous to the point of impossible to take any experience from the Japanese market and try and extrapolate it, and propose upon what will happen in Europe or North America,” said Ryan in an interview with MCV.

“The markets are now just so different, I actually think they are diverging to a greater extent than they were different in the past – if that’s even possible.”

He went on to emphasise that they’re more focused on stakeholder reactions over in the EU, and that there’s “considerable demand” – so they’ll be supplying to meet that demand come 22 February 2012.

So you see, if it bombs, it’s actually your fault for being so demanding.

Just saying.
