BioWare have said it time and time again – Mass Effect 3 will be the end of the Shepard arc; and because this is the end (but not THE end, of course), Mass Effect 3 is going to end in a way unlike any other game.
At least that’s what executive producer Casey Hudson told Game Informer during an interview about the game.
“At this point we’re taking into account so many decisions that you’ve made as a player and reflecting a lot of that stuff. It’s not even in any way like traditional game endings.”
According to Hudson, because there’s no need to project future threads at the end of Mass Effect 3, it’s easier for the team to tie up the story conclusively “about who lives and who dies, civilizations that rose and fell, all the way down to individual characters.”
“The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them.”
Hudson also spoke about the Citadel, and how a dropped mission from Mass Effect 2 that featured the massive space-station is finally getting some time in the spotlight.
“The Citadel is really big in this game. It’s bigger than it’s ever been, in terms of stuff to do,” he said.
Massive space city to explore? An ending that will take into account almost everything you’ve accomplished over 3 games? Multiplayer missions? Shooting action? Gay alien romance?
I bet you’re hating that March is still so far away.
