Razer unveils Naga Hex gaming mouse

Razer has revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 the latest iteration of their Naga series of gaming mice – the Naga Hex.

The original Razer Naga mice had 12 buttons located by the right thumb, targeting MMO gamers who wanted easily-accessible macro-key options.

The Naga Hex has whittled down the number of buttons to six in an apparent move to appeal to MOBA and action-RPG gamers who don’t necessarily need so many buttons, but can still benefit from some easily-accessible macro keys.

Razer claims that the mouse is geared towards high-demand gaming, handling up to 250 clicks a minute, and a lifetime of at least 10-million clicks.

The Razer Naga Hex features a curved, ergonomic design for right-handed use, and comes with 3 interchangeable thumb rests of different heights.

The Razer Naga Hex will also be Razer Synapse 2.0 enabled. This is Razer’s new cloud service that automatically stores gamers’ mouse settings and profiles for retrieval from any internet-connected computer.

The product is pegged at US$79.99 (±R650) and is reportedly hitting US retail in March 2012. No local pricing and availability info is available at this point.
