Now that Minecraft is all big and grown up and out in its big-boy pants, Mojang CEO, Carl Manneh, has told Edge magazine about three games on the cards for the company – two of which will likely be released in the first half of 2012.
The first game is coming from Markus “Notch” Persson, the man we all know and love as the guy behind Minecraft – he’s now passed the lead Minecraft developer torch over to Jens Bergensten, and is working on Scrolls.
The other two games coming from Mojang, Manneh is confident will be good enough to shake the company’s image of being the “Minecraft guys” – what the games are, however, he isn’t saying.
“They will have a big impact on Mojang over the next year,” he said, “I can’t talk about them, because we have NDAs with companies. Otherwise, we want to be very transparent about everything we do, but in this case we can’t.”
So three new games from Mojang this year. That can only be cool, right?
