Originally expected to hit SA retail sometime in January 2012, local distributor Apex Interactive has now pegged Trine 2 for an SA retail release on 10 February 2012.
Trine 2 retail for Windows and MacOS PCs will come in the form of a mini collector’s edition of sorts, containing: the full game; its majestic soundtrack (by composer Ari Pulkkinen of Angry Birds and Outland Fame); a snazzy artbook featuring comments by the Frozenbyte developers; and also the first Trine game. The recommended retail price is R149.95.
Trine 2 is the sequel to indie hit, Trine, which was published and developed by Frozenbyte, and has seen nearly 1 million copies sold.
Trine 2 brings more of the high-fantasy, side-scrolling action-adventure, physics-based puzzle-solving hijinkery of its progenitor, but with added online multiplayer co-op spice (up to 3 players).
The title has already launched for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC as a digital download.
Frozenbyte has also launched their promotional website for Trine 2 where you can check out many shiny Trine 2 things such as screenshots and gameplay videos.
