Get your bloody murder pants on, everybody – 2K‘s dropped the demo for The Darkness II, and there’s a whole world of bad guys out there waiting to be impaled on cars and peed on. It’s like my Christmas vacation all over again.

According to the blurb, gamers will  “become Jackie Estacado and master your demons as you experience the thrill of Quad-Wielding: slash, grab and throw with your Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons.”

Seriously, it’s like they made a whole game about my Christmas vacation.

The demo is exclusive to Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers this week, and goes out to everybody else on Xbox LIVE, as well as Steam and PS3 next Tuesday, 24 January (although PS3 owners with EU accounts will have to wait an extra day, because just because).

The full game launches on Xbox, PC, and PS3 on 10 February, assuming it isn’t delayed again. Third time lucky, hey?
