Final Fantasy versus XIII has been noticeably absent from any reports coming out of Square Enix in the past year or so – and was most notably absent from E3 2011.
But lo, and behold! For Famitsu have not let fanboys of all things Final Fantasy down, by squeezing some info out of Tetsuya Nomura during a recent interview.
Nomura was mostly talking about Kingdom Hearts 3D and Thearhythm Final Fantasy- but spilled some info about the elusive FFvXII.
Nomura recently checked up on the game, and said that the visuals have improved since the trailer we last saw, and added that the game will have a mix of real-time and CG scenes.
The Noctus (emo-looking protagonist) and Stella meeting scene, that was previously shown happening in real-time, has now been converted to a CG scene – seeing as having player control there is unnecessary.
Nomura said there won’t be any Versus-specific event happening this year, but that there will be some sort of announcement or showing at some point.
Better news: next time we see Versus, it will be shown in ACTUAL action, running on ACTUAL gaming hardware.
So it might be real after all!
