[Update]
BioWare has patched out the exploit and may even be punishing those who took advantage.
Community manager Joveth Gonzalez posted this dire warning: “I just wanted to be clear and let you all know that we’re definitely aware of individuals who took extreme advantage of this situation and we will be carefully evaluating and taking action as necessary.”

Unsurprisingly, Star Wars: The Old Republic players have discovered an exploit and are plundering it for all its worth.
The recent v1.1 patch released on 18 January 2012 increased the amount of Valor— the currency acquired through PvP and used to purchase high-end PvP gear—that players would earn on the planet Ilum.
So what happens when the Empire and the Republic work together? Why, they take turns offing each other, of course.
This comes shortly after yesterday’s (19 January 2012) patch 1.1.0a which sought to fix another exploit on Ilum that gave rise to large groups of Empire players camping the Republic spawn point.
The patch essentially made it so that players cannot enter the opposing faction’s safe base and gave the turrets god-mode.
