According to an Xbox.com Marketplace listing that went up over the weekend, and was promptly yanked after news sites copy-pasted screencaps of it all over the internet, Resident Evil 6 will support up to six players in its online co-op mode.
The game trailer features three protagonists – previous Resident Evil heroes Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield, as well as an unnamed newcomer – and each of them with their own partners, which makes a six-player co-op mode a not altogether unlikely thing.
The listing also showed local co-op for two players (much like Resident Evil 5), and an unspecified online multiplayer mode for between two and eight players, although that information has now been scrubbed and replaced with a bland text description of the game.
Resident Evil 6 was officially announced last week after a bunch of viral marketing via the website NoHopeLeft.com, and is scheduled to launch in November.
