Telkom DoGaming has announced that it will be launching a DOTA 2 Beta Cup for the DoGaming League 2012 season.
According to DoGaming, there are enough local players already in possession of DotA 2 beta keys to justify hosting a beta tournament.
The tournament will be designed to test the game’s potential as a competitive title in anticipation for the full release later this year.
DoGaming has also decided to allow international players to compete in the tournament as long as each team has at least one South African in it.
Each team must consist of at least 5 players, and may have no more than 3 reserves. At least one player must also be allocated the title of team manager.
Players can register here now, and entries will close on 29 February 2012. At the time of writing one team had registered to take part in the tournament.
The tournament itself will kick off on 7 March 2012 in a double elimination format.
Other PC games which form part of the DGL 2012 season include Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, Call of Duty 4, StarCraft II, and rFactor.
Large cash prizes have already been confirmed for the Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 leagues.
