Nimblebit accuses Zynga of Tiny Tower plagiarism

25 January 2012

Tiny Tower developer Nimblebit has submitted an open letter to Zynga which pokes fun at the mega-publisher for allegedly copying Tiny Tower with its soon to be released iOS game, Dream Heights.

“Dear Zynga (all 2,789 of you!), we noticed you are about to launch a new iPhone game called Dream Heights,” it reads. “Congratulations! We wanted to thank all you guys for being such big fans of our iPhone game of the year Tiny Tower!

“Good luck with your game, we are looking forward to inspiring you with our future games! Sincerely (all three of us), Nimblebit.”

This is not the first time that Zynga has been accused of blatantly stealing ideas from already released iOS games, but Dream Heights looks remarkably similar to the supposed source material, even by Zynga’s standards.

On the other hand, the concept behind Tiny Tower bears an uncanny likeness to the 1994 PC classic, Sim Tower. So who is copying who?

You can grab Tiny Tower for free in the iTunes store.
