Aaaaand in news that’s just in time to ruin the whole weekend, Sega has announced it’s delaying the Aliens: Colonial Marines launch until the third quarter of 2012.
The game was originally supposed to ship out around about now. Actually, technically, it was supposed to ship out years ago already – the game has been in development since 2006, for sweary-swear’s sake.
“Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line. While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective,” reads the official statement.
“We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritising this goal over the previously targeted date.”
A couple of weeks ago, developer Gearbox denied rumours that the game was being delayed. They lied to us. THE COMPANY LIED. The damn company! What about our lives, you son of a bitch?
ALL OTHER PRIORITIES ARE RESCINDED.
