Batten the hatches, trim the sails, and shiver the timbers – Iceberg Interactive’s naval strategy game Oil Rush is roaming the high seas in search of your booty. Uh, that came out all wrong.
Let me start again. Iceberg Interactive’s naval strategy game Oil Rush has been released for PC, Mac, and Linux – which also brings the Linux game catalogue up to, like, four games (including Project Bossanova…lol) so that’s great.
The official press release describes Oil Rush as a “real-time naval strategy game that combines the strategic challenge of a classic RTS with the sheer fun of Tower Defence”, which sounds like the time I had to get my cat out of the bath after he slipped and fell in, but maybe with less screaming.
Other features include:
- State-of-the-art visuals powered by the UNIGINE engine;
- Dynamic and fun gameplay – furious enemies, massive battles, rampant attacks!;
- 16 missions of single-player campaign offering variety of tactics and environments, from the half-flooded jungles to icebergs, slowly melting as they float in the cold northern seas;
- 15 maps for multiplayer battles, each with multiple winning strategies;
- Multi-player over LAN and Internet;
- Multi-platform – Windows/Mac OS X/Linux (buy once, play everywhere);
- Mod SDK is planned for release shortly.
The game’s tagged at $19.99, and comes with Steam and Desura keys for those of you who like that kind of stuff.
