Fans of the first Risen will remember hunting down Steelbeard’s treasure along with his illegitimate daughter, Patty – fending off Captain Romanov and his gang of landlocked rats along the way.
In Treasure Isle, the hunt for that mysterious treasure continues.
Piranha Bytes has announced via Facebook that players who pre-order copies of Risen 2 will receive the DLC free of charge.
Landlubbers (you mateys who’d rather not pre-order) can expect to pay $9.99 for the DLC on PC or 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360.
The wonderful people at Deep Silver have confirmed that the PC version of Risen 2 will be released using Steamworks, as well. That means no more draconian Tages and no more activation limits.
The reasons for this decision, the publisher says, is that they believe Steam is reliable, compatible across the hardware spectrum, stable and that it adds value to players.
Well, it’s certainly considerably better than Tages, SecuRom and their ilk, that’s for sure.
Fans can also expect achievements and most likely more DLC along the way.
