The Last of Us: more info and screens

3 February 2012

As is typical of exclusive-hounds, Game Informer, they have the privilege of getting the first coverage of Naughty Dog’s upcoming post-apocalypse survival-horror game, The Last of Us.

The publication is flaunting their latest issue, with promises of plenty of screenshots and more information to come – so stay tuned for the scans to hit the internet.

Meanwhile, some information has been shared, along with 3 screenshots (below).

  • At least part of the game is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
  • Combat will feature gunplay and melee.
  • Weapons will break through use. Scavenging for new items will be required.
  • The post-apocalypse world will feature a colourful palette, as the nature works to reclaim the concrete jungle.
  • Ellie, the teenage girl character, will not be controllable by players.
  • Naughty Dog promises extensive work on Ellie’s AI, so she won’t get in the way of player character Joel, and reduce the game to one long escort mission.
