The Skyrim Creation Kit has been anticipated for quite some time, and Pete Hines has confirmed that the promised release date of this coming Tuesday is still accurate.
The marketing head also promised something a little extra for those who have been waiting patiently for the delayed tools, a “special surprise”.
Talking over Twitter, Pete said, “For our Skyrim PC fans, the Creation Kit is on track for release on Tuesday. And, we also have a special surprise with it.”
The Creation Kit is a set of tools which will allow users to create content, and upload, download and install mods that they or others have created.
Hopefully the “special surprise” won’t be another unexpected delay; gamers aren’t known for their patience (just try mentioning Episode 3 in my general vicinity).
Even for those who aren’t particularly code savvy, the release of these tools should open up opportunities for a lot of really cool mods, and in a game as expansive as Skyrim, there is a ton of potential. This may surprise you, but there’s more to Skyrim mods than slaughtering children.
