Medal of Honor 2 “announcement” at GDC

Remember that whole PSM super secret shooter sequel reveal?

Well, now it would appear numerous gaming news sites and publications got handed an invitation to a media briefing to be held on 6 March 2012.

We’re sure ours just got lost in the mail.

The invite comes from EA – and has the Medal of Honor logo at the top of it – so there’s really no prize for guessing what it’s going to be about. It’s not really a big secret that Medal of Honor 2 was in the works – with assets of the game floating about rather openly in some circles, and the end of the first game laying the path pretty firmly for the sequel.

Well, that and developers, Danger Close, pretty much said in no unsure terms that they were working on the sequel.

Still, nothing is “official” until the publishers hold a massive event to make it so – and this seems to be it. The event is dated for March 6, which is around the same time the Game Developer’s Conference is happening – so really, there is no better time to do it.

Nic Simmond’s reviewed the original MoH reboot, giving it a rather underwhelming 67% saying “there is little reason to recommended this game, and it is definitely not worth the money if you are not planning dipping into the multiplayer.” The multiplayer got a respectable 80%.

Let’s hope EA have refined their approach a bit, and have something epic planned.
