Dust 514 is a PS3 exclusive MMOFPS currently being developed by CCP Games, the guys behind the critically acclaimed PC MMO, Eve Online.
The game will take place in the same universe as Eve Online, and events that occur in Dust 514 will have a direct affect on the Eve Universe, and therefore on Eve Online itself.
Essentially, players in Dust 514 will play as Eve Online’s ground forces, and battles won and lost in the PS3 shooter will affect who controls which planets in the PC MMO.
Dust 514 players will also be able to interact with Eve Online players and even request assistance, such as ground support from mercenary forces during planet battles.
According to Dust514base.com, CCP confirmed that Dust 514 will feature full keyboard and mouse support, which means that gamers not comfortable with playing shooters using the PS3 controller can revert to the timeless KB/mouse combo.
This also makes the game far more accessible to the existing Eve Online PC gamer player base.
