Last week the rumour mill was rife with reports that Media Molecule is working on something called LittleBigPlanet Karting, which is supposedly an arcade racer aimed squarely at the Mario Kart market.
Over the weekend the official PlayStation twitter feed confirmed that LittleBigPlanet Karting is in development.
“Update: We can confirm that LittleBigPlanet Karting is in fact in development and we look forward to sharing more on the game soon!” reads the tweet.
No additional details have been made available, but according to the initial rumours LittleBigPlanet Karting will be an online multiplayer racer where players can compete with up to five of their friends at racing around small tracks that are laden with power boosts and traps.
There are also reports that there will be plastic steering wheel peripherals on sale that players can attach to their PlayStation Move controllers.
